Londonderry, NH – February 28, 2022 – Semiconductor Circuits, Inc. expands and improves it’s line of 16th brick Cool Power Technologies DC-DC converters designed for use in industrial, solar, test, telecom/communications, networking, data-processing, railway, military, medical and aerospace applications. The new converters include 24V, 2A 18-75Vin and 48V, 1.25A output modules. The modules are available as an open frame design or with an optional baseplate for those applications where conduction cooling is required or preferred. These modules meet EN 60950 safety requirements and are UL94 V-0 flammability rated. The modules meet or exceed the typical industry requirements including no load/no minimum capacitance operation and 2X nominal input voltage transient capability.

Other features include: fixed-frequency operation, auto-restart overvoltage & overcurrent protections, undervoltage lockout (UVLO) and remote output voltage sensing. Remote ON/OFF is standard with positive or negative logic options available.

CPE Series Bus ConverterAtkinson, NH – September 14, 2017 – Semiconductor Circuits, Inc. introduces the CPE6D24, CPE6R24 and CPE5R48 “Cool Power Technologies” wide input range 8th brick DC-DC converters designed for use in power radio and other applications where it is intended to directly replace larger quarter bricks modules (identical pin out and functionality.) The converter features an industry standard 18-36Vdc or 36-72Vdc (24 or 48Vdc nominal) input voltage ranges and have outputs trimmable from 21-34Vdc (model dependent – see datasheet.) The modules have a typical full load efficiency of 93% which allows for use over a wide ambient temperature range with minimal derating. The open frame design is also available with an optional baseplate for those applications where conduction cooling is required or preferred. This module is compliant with DOSA footprint and interface standards.

The CPE6D24, CPE6R24 and CPE5R48 meet EN 60950 basic insulation requirements and is UL94 V-0 flammability rated. The modules comply with all of the typical industry requirements including no load operation and 2X nominal input voltage transient capability.

Other features include: fixed-frequency operation, auto-restart OVP, OCP & OTP protections, UVLO and remote sense. Remote ON/OFF is standard with positive or negative logic options are available.

The modules feature a standard 8th brick pinout and dimensions of 2.3” L x 0.9” W (58.4mm x 22.9mm.) It has a maximum height of 11.8mm (0.465”) which accommodates tight card spacing with minimal airflow blockage of downstream components. A baseplate version is available for conduction cooling applications with an industry standard height of 0.50″.

This compact part is designed for use in power radio applications and is intended to directly replace larger quarter bricks modules (identical pin out and functionality.) The converter features an industry standard 36-72Vdc (48Vdc nominal) input voltage and has a 30Vdc output rated at 140W. The output has an ultra-wide trim range of 21 to 34Vdc which allows for significant flexibility in various power amplifiers designs. The converter has a full load efficiency of 93% which allows for use over a wide ambient temperature range with minimal derating. The open frame design is also available with an optional baseplate for those applications where conduction cooling is required or preferred. This module is compliant with DOSA footprint and interface standards.

The CPE5R48 meets EN 60950 basic insulation requirements and is UL94 V-0 flammability rated. The module complies with all of the typical industry requirements including no load operation and 100V/100mS input voltage transient.
